Tale as old as time: parents and teachers, adults in general, make younglings learn stuff they don't have interest in, simultaneously calling kids' passions and hobbies "a waste of time". So more timid and obedient kids abandon what they truly love and become good students to please their guardians and have "a good future". After all, "good future" is worth sacrificing your passion and enduring things you find tedious, right?

Unfortunately, those children often become unfulfilled adults, stuck at jobs they hate and angry at themselves and their elders.

TL;DR: oof this hurts on a personal level x'D

Thanks a lot for your opinion!
(Love you a lot for this kind of observation, this means a lot!)

And now all we have to do is wait for certain raven to sit on the tree and say: "Nevermore". Your work made me immediately think of Edgar Allan Poe's writings - it's dark, it's gothic, even its title sounds like a name of Poe's unknown story ;)

Aww, it's cute as hell and very well made! <3

CutePencilCase responds:

Thank you ^^
I'm just starting doing little sewing project like this, but it's been really fun

Ah, very few things in this world are better than waterfall scenery porn.

She's a hot mess. And she'll be dreaming of whoever left her like that in weeks ;3

I like how colouring here (namely pinks) show that while she had an intense makeout session, she's still aroused and not fully satisfied (at least that's the way I see it). Plus it's rare to see a female character covered in lipstick like that.

FrankenToon responds:

^^^^ Yes!! You nailed everything down perfectly! Thanks so much for the wonderful comment :>

I feel sorry for Han, he missed amazing views on this planet xD

I cannot tell if this monster is an abomination called from hell in a ritual... or if it's a grotesque priest who is going to perform a ritual to honor gods even more terrifying than him. Anyway, Papa Lovecraft would be proud <3

MrCreeep responds:

spot on! thanks :)

I'm gonna say that if this was a cover for a graphic novel I'd buy and read it without a second thought. It's fantastic!

JulienGerards responds:

Wow thanks !!!

It's adorable that mermaid is so small she can fit into a leaf... Unless those are giant leaves xD I love how the colouring and her content face makes the whole piece calm like summer afternoon.

Zaccura responds:

Haha I was debating with myself whether they were giant leaves or not, but then I realized that would mean the grass would be tree-sized and that idea scares me XD So she's just a tiny mermaid.
I'm so glad you like it, thank you! :D

It's like a loop - artist makes art, people like and praise the art, artist becomes famous and has to make more art to sustain the fame... And often loses health, physically or mentally, while trying to stay popular.
Really great piece; the circular composition illustrates the loop I've mentioned and sleeping artist loosely reminds me of Francisco Goya's artwork (The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters). Plus I love bright colours here.

NurulAftab responds:

Omg! That's a really deep observation of my piece!
I am honored to have people like you guys supporting me..
Means a lot!

I'm a simple person who is currently on heavy copium and hopium. Everything sucks, so I'm looking for reasons to smile about. Pleased to meet you.
